does anyone know how to get rust stains out of clothes??

Obviously none of the previous responders have had the heart break of having your clothes ruined by rust. We used to live in the city, and whenever the fire department would flush the hydrants, our water would turn rusty. Well heaven help us if they did it while a load was washing. Our clothes would come out a dingy yellow to red color. here's the solution:
If your clothes are damaged becasue of rusty water, do not dry them. Instead, rewash them, but add 3 cups of lemon juice to the wash. this should take care of it.
if you have an individual rust spot on an item, then you can take a dab of Cascade automatic dishwashing liquid and rub it in the spot. throw it into the wash and wash as normal; it should take it out, but these are the worst stains of all to get rid of.

my friend had rusty water and she used oxy clean
Dow bathroom cleaner. Trust me should work.
If the clothes are white use YELLOW OUT it is a powder that you add to the water before putting the clothes in.
