How do I get Silly Putty out of a rug?

I know this sound silly but it works. Use peanut butter. The oil in it releases that gumminess from the carpet. You need to leave it on for a while and them work a little out at a time. You may need to repeat it a couple of times. After the putty comes out, you will need to clean the spot with a grease releaser such as Dawn dishwashing detergent and then your carpet should be back to normal. Good luck and I hope it works for you like it did when I got silly putty in my carpet years ago!

Goo Gone might work. I haven't tried it, but it usually gets rid of everything.
ice till its cold then peel it off
get a cast iron skillet and fill it with ice, place it on top of the silly puddy and let it sit there for about 15-20 min. it will freeze the puddy and u can then pull it right up
