Tips for cleaning a Letterman's jacket?
Answers: I would still try the cleaners if it be me,especially since you say the jacket is 10yrs hoary. You probably are going to have weakening. But here's what I found. Good Luck! =)

You should know how to wash the jacket contained by the washing device (check the labels to brand name sure). I would recommend turning it inside out first, and using cold water. I would not recommend drying it within the dryer however, as the heat may effect the vinyl to melt. If your dryer have an "Air Dry" or "Fluff" setting, this should be OK, since these settings don't use heat, but I would suggest floppy it to dry, just to be on the undisruptive side.
I use leather cleaner on the sleeves and dry carpet cleaning granule on the wool. I ruined one (hubby's) by washing it within the machine and drying it, the leather and the wool both become misshapen and a lot smaller...The dry hearth rug cleaning granules took bad most of the general dirt and near a little agitation removed the stains, too. Capture, Resolve and Tech adjectives make dry mat cleaning granules and I used a leather cleaner by Guardsman.
