It's both, or either. Fresh laundry is an amazing smell! Try this....add baking soda to the load with the soap, about 1/2 cup if it's a medium to large load. Run a second rinse....then hang your clothes in the sun. I promise you that as good as the soaps and fabric softeners smell, just plain ol' clean and sun dried laundry smells even better!

Both! Try Gain or another great scented detergent and fabric softener or Gain Dryer sheets. The smell is long lasting.
