Answers: Try mixing one part soap powder next to three parts of warm hose down and scrub it with a scrub brush. This even works on permanent pointer so it should do the trick with lipstick!
The query is, how did it get at hand in the first place? The mind boggles.

lug a soft cloth and use some eyemake up remover . That worked on my carpet .

turps lol. depends on the colour of the rug. try stain devil tesco vend it on the cleaning aisle its in a bit yellow bottle they do give or take a few 5 different bottles for different stains and I'm sure lipstick is there.
try "goo gone"... available at walmart, home depot etc and it worked wonders on my hearth rug...removed old black grease stains!!

Or you could simply go to Wilkinsonsons and buy a alien one for twenty quid.
It does of course supplicate the question of why you put lipstick on a rug surrounded by the first place?
Sponge the affected nouns with methylated spirits on a white cloth followed by natty washing up solution. Rub this is with a verbs finger and then rinse throughly.
Alternatively Stain Devils do a list of different stain removers and one of these includes lipstick.

Don't know about removing it, but try lying on your stern next time to prevent any more getting into the runner fibres and ruining it...............
White spirit have been my champion here. I have used it to remove, lipstick, eyeliner, tarmacadam and oil from my cream mat. It is now 4 years ancient but still looks new.
