Can you dye a silk dress?

I don't see why not, however you may have trouble with the thread in the seams, & other notions (such as elastic, facings, and if it has one, a zipper) as it may not take the dye.
I wouldn't use RIT, but rather a dye and setting agents that are made for silk.
