What is the best way to wash a feather blanket- can I use a washer and dryer?
Answers:
I have a lot of feather/down blankets. I do wash them in a regular washer. It is safe. I use a mixture of Ultra Era with bleach Alternative and some baking soda(baking soda is the secret trick ingredient to getting stains and odors out!!) I wash that and then I put it in the dryer on delicate knits cycle(low) along with 3 or 4 clean or new tennis balls(these will fluff up the quilt and make it like new!). I hope this helps you! It did for me!!

i don't think you can wash a down comforter in a normal washer (i'm not sure though). what i normally do with mine is take it to the dry cleaner's. another tip is to set it outside on a sunny day. the sun makes the blanket more "puffy" and kills any bacteria/germs living in the fabrics/feathers.

If it's just a blanket and it will fir in the washer I say go for it. I have had one for about three years and wash it in the washer about once a month. No problems.
