How often should you clean your coffee pot?
Answers:
You should wash the pot & basket every day (and I will bet you knew that), but running vinegar through it periodically (every month or so) will help you to clean out the pipes the water goes through, especially if you have hard water- it can leave deposits inside that make it brew slower and taste funny after a while.
Your mom's vinegar solution really is the best natural way to clean it- just run at least 3-4 cycles of clear water after it to clear it all out. It really isn't that bad. If you really hate it- coffee pot cleaner will work.

everyday, GROSS!!
Everytime you use it would be good.
at most stores where you go to get household cleaners and such, you can purchase coffee pot cleaner. It is a poder and you dump it in once a day, add water, let it soak, then take a brush ( you can also buy those they are half mooned shaped) and scrub, rinse and dry and your coffee poit will be as good as new.
EVERYDAY
Before and after every use. Gets the good fresh taste of coffee without that tingy aftertaste of something old.
I clean the glass pot out itself everyday. As far as a good inside cleaning, I do that once a month.
Once a month, you can add 1 cup of vinegar to 2 cups of water and "flush" the system. Cleans all of the impurities (lime, etc.) caused by water.
Never. The pot develops a patina that improves the taste of the brew. Similar to old pizza ovens or cast iron skillets.
my answer is similar to all these people above, sorry
coffee pot or coffee maker? I run vinegar through it ever few weeks to be sure all the water workings are clear of mineral deposits etc...but i clean the glass pot every day.
Everytime you use it.
From vending experience you should wash it often and the vinegar is to clean out the inside of the coffee maker. The pot and basket I would clean once a week, otherwise a quick rinse will do.
I use a French Coffee press. Pour the boiling water in, wait 2 minutes, press down the plunger slowly (important), wait 1 mminute for settling, and pour off steaming hot coffee, no filters to deal with, no brew baskets growing mold three days later. I can dump the whole mess down the sink or in the garden and rinse.
