how do i bleach white cotton clothes?

say i had a white cotton t-shirt and i got cut and got blood on it, then i washed it and dried it in the dryer several times. and now i want to try to bleach it to get the stains out. i want it to be pure white again. how exactly would i go about bleaching it?

Answers:
You have to be careful leaving bleach on clothes, because it can burn holes in them. Sounds like you did just fine, though.

Also, for the future (and for your non-whites), hydrogen peroxide and your own saliva will work away at blood in your clothes and will get it out too. I think bleach does better than hydrogen peroxide, but your own spit probably works the best. This is gross, but it works best when the blood is still fairly fresh and the clothes haven't been put in the drier yet.

Another tip: don't put clothes in the drier if they have a stain on them still. The drier can set your stains in.

First, never dry anything that is stained. It can set the stain. Chlorine beach is probably your best bet, letting it set in some water overnight. Of course, it may wind up getting yellowed or just discolor the stain.

If the shirt is important to you, take it to a dry cleaner.
pure bleached in the sink outta do the trick...
put water in machine add bleach then add clothes, add enough but not to much , if you soak in straight bleach it can actually eat clothes if you leave to long
Just get regular bleach put it on the stain and then wash it.
if you get blood on anything white this is how you get out the stains peroxide and bleach(it will combine and be the best cleaning agent ever)
Use Clorox Bleach Pen. I recommend it. It gets everything out! I am such a clutz, and I either spill something on my shirt everyday, drop something down my shirt, burn food, or drop something valuable on the floor. So, the Clorox Bleach Pen has helped me through ALL of my white shirt stains! :)
rub tide in to the stain and wash it again checkit not clean do it again and dont dry it till its good,, but the color might come back better if you wash the spot with peroxide then rinse and do it again the oxegen should lift the stain,, or use the oxy-clean in a paste on the stain and soak and wash ,,good luck,, also an enzyme detergent does blood and grass better than any other type,, so ask at the store for an enzyme detergent and rub it in and then wash with a load and dont waste water add the other things while saving the shirt
You can buy a bleach pen from any super market. Clorox makes them. The bleach pen comes with a small scrubber attached. Once you apply the bleach from the stick you can then scrub the area with the small brush.

This works great. I've tried it on my daughter's bib and it turned out nice and white.
Get a Chlorox Bleach pen and apply directly to the stain. The bleach in the pen is gel, so it doesn't run. Allow that to set for a while and wash in warm water, use a good quality bleach in the in your washer and use reqular detergant also.
Stop cutting yourself, honey.
