how do I clean mildew from the grout and walls of a marble shower?

septic system

Answers:
I would not adventure using any household product on a marble surface- i would spend an extra 20$ a get a cleaner made specifically for that purpose.
No one asked if your marble was polished or mat, no one asked the color. These are important to know as some colors are affected differently.

ex- vinegar will remove shine on most marbles
-bleach can oxidize white marbles causing them to rust

You can probably find locally some Klenzall from Stone Tech or similar, these products are designed to clean and not harm the stone.

Bleach? or baking soda...scrub with vinigar, maybe?
White vinegar & water
Get some TSP from a local paint store and use a couple of tablespoonfuls to a gal of water and add about a quarter of a cup of bleach. Scrub the surface thoroughly, then wipe it clean with clean water which has no TSP but has the same amount of bleach. Use chlorine liquid bleach. It will kill the mildew and the TSP will scour the spores off of the walls.
Vinegar. It is the number 1 cleaner of mildew and mold. Do not dilute it just spray it on wait a few minutes and wipe. It will not cause harm to surfaces and the odor will go away after a few minutes plus its non toxic. Also if you ever forget to remove wet clothing from a hamper or plastic bag and you end up with the icky black dots from mildew, use vinegar add it to your wash cycle (about one cup of vinegar) and the mildew will be gone
Try toothpaste and a toothbrush
Ok, I would get a stiff bristled brush, and then some chlorox and detergent and mix them together and scrub the grout and walls.

1/2 cup of bleach
1/2 cup of detergent, (borax 20 mule team is the best for this, as boron will inhibit mold growth).

Mix together and scrub on the grout and walls, then rinse with clean water...

If it doesnt come clean, (the grout, then get a chlorox gel pen, and go along the grout lines to bleach the grout clean, set it on there for a while, then rinse off).

I wish you well..

The new Clorox pen, swipe grout and let dry ; for walls spray alittle Clorox Cleancup and wipe with warm cloth.
spray half and half water and bleach then scrub and then seal the marble with a grout sealer and then hang a shower auto sprayer
using a mixture of water and bleach 50/50 , but make sure your marble is protected with a sealer or you will damage it.
straight bleach...but just spray it on and leave, then come back later and rinse it off. Don't stay in there the smell is strong . It WILL get off mildew better than anything else.
