When seperating laundry, what are the groups (such as white and colors)?

Answers:    I put all my whites together, street lamp colored clothes together, then my darks.I other do towels separately because of lint getting on the clothes, especially the darks.
I do mine like this:
whites
lights
darks
multicolored lights
multicolored darks
but most relations just do "whites, lights, darks"
I seperate my laundry as follows.. .socks, underwear (hot dampen cycle), linens/towels (hot water cycle), lights and darks turned inside out..(cold/cold cycle) I also own a pile for gentle cycle and delicates.. (warm/cold) Good luck
Apart from colours you obligation to separate any garments that need a cool clean up, a short wash, a short spin etc.

Usually woollens and silks call for more delicate wash. Only wash woollens beside woollens and always separate muddy colours from light.

Not adjectives cottons can take a hot mop up - check the labels.

Only ever wipe whites with other whites.

Wash black clothes together using special stuff cleaner for dark clothes to facilitate preserve the blackness.

Some artificial fibres close to viscose cannot take long spins so brand sure you check the instructions on your favourite items.

If the garment say dry clean simply and it is cotton or some other fibre you have an idea that is washable, follow the instructions and have it dry cleaned. Sometimes the thread used within constructing a garment is not the same bran as the actual garment. Shrinkage in one or the other will engineer it go frail when washed surrounded by water.
when i do the wash i have whites, lights and darks but i also dry-clean all my towels together and my beddin together
I separate them into conservative, moderate and liberal piles. I be having too abundant arguments in the dryer!!!!
This is what i do:

Whites

Lights

Darks

Towels

Sheets

Dishrags/kitchen towels

Baby clothes (her laundry is still self washed surrounded by baby detergent)

and higher than that....i always rinse my husband and son's whites separately from each other because it make it much easier when it is time to sort and fold socks...my son is 11 and his socks are almost as big as my husbands...so to avoid confusion i just purify them separately.
Obviously, everyone has their own system. I have a roommate who separated her loads into two groups: whites and everything else. Actually, sometimes she didn't separate the whites either, and it never seem to bother her. So I guess the answer to your question depends on how picky you are.

Me, I guess I similar to everything just so. I enjoy these categories:

white underwear
colored underwear
whites
blues
greens
reds/yellows
blacks
blankets and sheets
dish towels, tablecloth, and napkins
hand purify darks
hand rinse out brights
hand wipe up whites

The underwear I do separately for hygiene purposes, in hot marine wash. The blankets and sheets I also mop up in hot river to kill dust mites. The dish towels, tablecloth, and napkins are washed contained by hot water to sanitize them. The rest of the laundry is wash in thaw out water, except sometimes I'll use the hot river cycle for whites. Also, the "hand wash" category are done on a special "hand wash" cycle on my washer contained by cold water. When I don't hold enough to separate them out, I'll put the blues, greens and even occasionally blacks surrounded by a load together.

If you want minimal division (like if you don't hold all that much laundry to do anyway), I would suggest to of late separate darks, whites, and bright colors.
