I have an electric dryer, but my new house has a gas dryer connection. Can I use my electeric dryer somehow?

Answers:
Yes. You will probably need a special 220 circuit installed in your laundry for the dryer. You may have the circuit already available, since it is a common one to build into a laundry. Then you simply connect your machine to the electric socket and the dryer vent to the vent and you're ready to go.

But if your electric dryer ever wears out and you need to replace it, you will be very glad to have the gas dryer connections ready, since gas dryers are so much cheaper to run. In fact, you might even want to run the numbers--try to find out how much electricity your electric dryer uses per load, and then multiply it by the number of loads you do per year and the cost of your electricity. Do the same for a new gas dryer--you may find that purchasing a new gas dryer (and perhaps selling your electric dryer) will be much cheaper for you in the long run.

Yes. Just need a 220 elec. outlet.
Yes you just have to make sure that you have the proper voltage supply to run an electric dryer which usually require 220 volts.
Yes you can, you will probualy have to install a new heavier wire and outlet because electric dryers use more electricity and have a different style plug. If you know nothing about electric you might need to have an electrican come out.
This is too easy. Plug it in to a wall socket. I had the same problem.
You can use the dryer vent portion but you Will need 220 Volt power to run the dryer. See an electrician to have the 220 power put in.
you may need to install a new 30amp 220volt plug for the old dryer. if the laundry rm is on the first floor and you have room in the elect panel it is not a big deal, a couple of hundred bucks for a pro or it is a possible DIY job if somebody has a bit of electrical experence. materials should be well under a hundred bucks unless its a long way to the panel
