Krud Kutter which you find at the Lowes home improvement store. I have a fire in my home previously this year and tried all kind of products to remove the soot and smell of smoke which all did not work. Krud Kutter works on most everything including woodwoork, painted drywall, stone, earthen and even in the laundry on garments. There are dilution ratio on the back of the gallon container, but on some items that are heavily coated next to soot or ash, I used it straight and it worked on everything with little or no stab. What is particularly great something like Krud Kutter is that it is biodegradable, non-toxic, fume free and safe for the environment.
