How do you clean off fingerprinting powder?
All my appliances and PCs were carried out of the house and fortunately I disturbed the thieves before those were carried away. The appliances have been fingerprinted so the cleaning method musn't damage electronic equipment.
Answers:
For the electronics, first try canned air. Usually, you can blow off most of the residue. Unfortunately, if the thieves left fingerprints the graphite will stick and you will have to use more stringent methods. Once you try blowing off the residue, try the vacuum attachment, the brush one. Then try a very large make-up brush sprayed with a product called Endust. With what is left, you will have to hit each area with a soft cloth, again sprayed with Endust.
I feel for you. It happened to me, too. Dogs did the deed, here. But, it is the sweat from both human and animals that makes the powder reveal the prints. The powder they use is like ground up pencil led and sticks to the oils left by paws and skin. If the cat walked on upholstered fabrics you can use a product called Foleys Upholstery Cleaner available at the home improvement stores, it will take it off fabrics.

Ask the police department. They must know how to clean up the stuff they use.
