what is an easy way to make a room smell fresh besides just vaccuumimg and pluging in oils?
Answers:
open windows, burn a stick of nice incense ( i like nag champa) wash the drapes and furniture covers once a month & dry with bounce fabric softener sheets...damp mop the hard wood with murphys oil soap, wash the tile or linoleum floors with pinesol...install a laundry chute so that stinky sweat socks etc... aren't fouling up the air, and can be deposited right to the laundry area. if you have a dog give him a bath or get him groomed every 2 weeks...find the source of the odor & remove it...

wash everything with a pine oil solution, from ceiling to floors, all walls, all wood work
Fresh air and use baking soda on the carpets before vacuuming.
Febreeze: it eats the odors so it doesn't smell funny anymore.
Use a aromatic cleaner or use lightly scented candles. Use the once that are not too floral. They tend to overwhelm rather then freshen. Vanilla is pleasant.
deep clean the rugs every 3-6 months
washing curtains, deep clean carpets, dust, mop, scrub bathroom. Open the windows...oh yeah..clean them too.
Bake cookies.
Try a yankee candle or some other kind or candle in a glass jar and a candle warmer. the candle warmer melts the whole candle and when all the wax is melted it will make the whole house smell like the candle scent. and its safer and makes the candle last longer then burning it.
At the grocery store, they sell carpet crystals. You sprinkle them on the floor before you vacuum and then they get sucked up in the vacuum and get warm and then your vacuum emits a nice fresh smell. I love using those!
