Yup, "A place for everything and everything it's place." Put things away after you use them. Do you watch any of those organizing shows to TLC? I think if you get rid of the clutter, your place can't help but look clean. There's a lot of wicker storage containers that look nice where you can stash magazines, etc. Keep the clutter off your bathroom vanity, kitchen counters, dishes out of the sink, hang up clothes. Get some microfiber clothes and just use a little dish soap and water, or white vinegar and water, or a little dish soap and water and a tiny amount of bleach (read the label to see if they can be mixed) and wipe and dry nonwood surfaces once a week or more often if there's a spill or something. The little Swifer dusters and mops are pricey, but sure make keeping floors clean a lot easier. Don't let the place get to be a mess before you clean it.

hire a cleaning service for a couple times. Watch them, and learn from them. It might be $$$ well spent.
A place for everything and everything in its place. I was taught this by a Friends mom when I was little. My mom was never taught to clean either.
A) Turn music on while you are cleaing - then it won't seem like a chore, or at least it won't seem like such a hassle.
B) Be fast, but consistent; you do want it done so you have time to get on with your day.
C) If worse comes to worst, you could always get a cleaner? Lol..but they are most likely expensive so I wouldn't reccommend it.
D) Have some friends come over to help and when you are all done you can go off and do something you all like: drinking, watching TV, movies, etc.
maybe your glasses are dirty?
Start from the top down, and if you have any fans clean them as well air con grates clean them first. If you don't do this first, your house will be just as dirty by the end.
Clean wood things last. They collect the most dust, and use a dust repellent on these.
just do a little bit at a time.start by picking up ... lets say....laundry.then move on to something else. dont try big tasks. you will stop in the middle. i know there is nothing wrong with you. i have the same problem. my house is completly messy as well. no matter how much i cleam i cant stay clean.lots of people have this problom. maybe i should take my own advice.
TRY TO FINISH ONE THING BEFORE STARTING ON ANOTHER. I AM THE SAME WAY , SO I FINISH ONE ROOM COMPLETELY .ITS HARD AT FIRST, BUT ONCE YOU GET A SYSTEM DOWN , IT WILL BE A BREEZE.
I have this problem too. Maybe you have too much clutter. I do. No matter what I do my house looks messy! I think after we had our son we outgrew our house..LOL (if this might be the problem) Try to get organized. Buy some storage bins or shelving and try to put away what you dont use everyday. Also, throw out anything you dont need(or send it to good will). If you could add it into your budget you could also have a Maid service come in and clean it for you once or twice and maybe they will let you watch them so youll know how to do it properly, or they may even teach you how. anyhow, I feel your pain I really do..LOL. Good luck, I hope this helped.
Going from room to room I pick up all the clutter first, then I vacuum, Dust and clean glass, and wash down walls and woodwork if needed, also get a good air freshener.
I have a routine whereby I clean the house over three days, in the evenings after work. Day 1: Clean kitchen and mop floors. Day 2: Clean bathrooms. Day 3: Dust and vaccuum. I can usually get the chores done in an hour or less. The house is clean as a whistle by the weekend when I do laundry.
The worst habit I found myself in before was to leave clothes on the floor thinking, "I'll put them in the closet later". Ha! Never happened. Now, my motto is "if you take it down to use it, put it back so you don't lose it."
maybe it's just clutter, removing a lot of just stuff from rooms can make a big difference. get rid of papers , magazines, etc. pack away all nick knacks and that kinda stuff. just clear off tables, counters, frigs, stoves. put stuff away.
For the living room, first try throwing away clutter. It is important that the room has less clutter because you notice it first. Just walk around with a garbage bag and toss something you haven't used in 6 months. If there are still alot of things after doing that, then purchase some nice baskets. Put everything in those and it will makes things more organized and asthetically pleasing.
When cleaning the bedroom, start with making the bed. Once the bed is made, you can clean up the floor and dressers by making organized piles on the bed. A pile for laundry, bathroom, living room, garbage, etc. Then clear the piles as necessary.
For the kitchen and eating area, start by putting the dishes in the dishwasher. Then wipe the counters and then sweep the floor. After doing all that, spray cleaner on the kitchen table and the counters and wipe clean. This will also leave a nice clean smell.
For the bathroom, clear all the clutter and put things away. Start by putting toilet bowl cleaner in the toilet. It can start working while you clean the rest of the bathroom. Then spray the counters with bathroom cleaner. While it sits and soaks, Windex the mirror and wipe clean. Then wipe the counters and then scrub the toilet. Sweep the floor and then empty the garbage.
It all sounds like alot of work, but the more practice you have, the better you will get. I have a pretty clean house and it is mostly because my mom taught me how. And trust me, I have thanked her for it. But you can still learn how. I throw things away ALOT in my house. We go through alot of garbage bags. But my house has less clutter and I usually forget about the things I throw away and never miss them. Good luck. Just make sure YOU teach your kids someday how to clean and oragnize. They will thank you later!
