How do you get tough old stains out of the carpet?

Ok, so my mom tells me to clean the carpet stains in our house. We have so many brands of cleaners, it's not even funny. (we have a whole cabinent set aside for them) Anyways, so I tell her that none of them are working, and her reply is: I don't want to hear complains, I want solutions. Find a way to make it work. So, this is my way of finding out how to get my cleaners (without buying new ones) to get out the toughest of stains. See, I don't know what these stains are, I just know that they're there, and they've been there for a while, and that they're not coming out any time soon! So please help me figure something out before my mother grounds me for life. It would be easiest for me if there were some kind of solution that gradma hand made with like around-the-house type of things to get all stains out. So, thanks for reading this, and if you have any good answers, PLEASE HELP! Thanks, and God bless!

If you have a cabinet set aside for cleaners dig into it I'm sure you will have Oic Clean Carpet Stain Remover(or a similar carpet cleaner) in it. Follow the instructions and you will have a clean carpet.

Other answers:
if the carpet is white diluted peroxide works well, if not diluted bleach. orange, lemon juice, and vinegar are naturally mildly acidic and work well on food and drink stains. whatever you use, always spot test, all carpet is different and cleaners may take out more than the stain. i suggest removing a short baseboard and testing unexposed carpet because furniture gets moved. hope this helps. \<:}

You said you have alot of cleaners, but you didn't say which ones. If you have "Mean Green", that will take out most any organic stain. The problem most people have, is they want to hurry and don't give the product time to work. In most cases, plain soap and water will work. Wet the area and take a cake of bar soap and rub on the area, then brush it lightly and rinse it clean. Good luck
The solution I use? 1 capful ammonia and 1 equal part dishwashing liquid to 16 oz water. Spray on spot until wet (not damp but not soaked) then use a soft scrubby or old toothbrush, pat clean with a wet wash cloth and then let dry.

Works wonders!

(By the way-- I got this hint from "Heloise: Hints From Heloise" years ago)
1 tsp of white vinegar
1 tsp dawn dish liquid
1 tsp ammonia
work up to foam and use the foam only on the stain. Use a toothbrush. Rinse with a damp sponge or blot up with a towel. Vaccuum after it dries. This solution can be increased by using equal parts of all three depending on how much you need.
