I am washing a down feather comforter should I use warm or cold water?

it says to machine wash it at 60 degrees so I'm not sure if I should use the cold or warm water setting on my washer.

Answers:
If the label says "dry clean only" you can still wash it yourself. I would NOT recommend dry cleaning down comforters...it's hell getting the smell of the chemical out of them and they get so much cleaner with soap and water. I would wash in warm water..rinse in cold. They take a long time to dry. Try drying it with some tennis shoes..it beats the crap out of it so you don't have a lumpy comforter.

cold, definitely
cold, definitely
Cold. A down feather comforter is delicate, and you should always wash delicates in cold.
60 degrees are most probably 60 C so set your washer to warm, but not hot.
But I would bring a feather comforter always to the dry cleaners. Synthetic fiber filled pillows I wash at home myself, but never feather filled.
Use cold delicate cycle. Usually feather comforters need to be dry cleaned, however if your instruction label says it's OK to wash, I would recommend you hang it out to dry.
Cold Cold Cold. When in doubt on anything wash it in cold. I wash everything in cold. I hate it when things shrink.
