How do I get all the layers of cooked food and grease off of the stove stop.?

Have used all the brand names for this purpose. 2 hours later (and multiple sprayings, foamings, wipings) the area around some of the burners looks no better.

Answers:
This depends on which type of stovetop you have. If it is a ceramic stovetop you will definitely need a product made especially for ceramic tops. If it is a gas stove or an electric stove with inset burners there is a product on the market called "Bam" which is very good at cutting grease & grime. If this does not work try a good quality, odourless oven cleaner, but please read the label carefully before purchasing to see if it can be used on stovetops.

Other answers:
You may try oven cleaner sprays, and heat the stove top, (all four burners going at the same time, or, flat pans on the burners so that the heat will dissipate onto the cook stove top), and you have to leave this "cook" for a couple of hours, and that should take it off...
