What are the tiny worms called that get into fur coats and what can be done to get rid of them?

These little pests are causing some vintage furs to lose their hair.

Answers:
I think they are probably moth larva. Clothes moth larvae feed on wool, wool blends, feathers, fur hair, leather, other animal products and sometimes on lint, dust or paper. You probably need to take your fur to a furrier as soon as possible so it won't sustain any more damage. Do not spray it with pesticides, store it in cedar, or use moth balls because they will ruin your coat further.
