First of all why do you think they favor your place?. Moles root around underground searching for little bug larvae to eat like grubs, which i believe are baby beetles. If you treat your grass with one of those season long grub killer formulas that can be laid down with a simple broadcast spreader, you would be severly limiting their food supply. If you are some kind of sadist, they have metal traps that stab the mole in the face when they surface. And there are also sonic devices that shoot sound waves into the ground driving the moles away. The first method is by far the most effective. but takes a while to see the results. you should apply the granules in mid spring.
Everyone swears by Spearmint gum. Chew it a few minutes and then put where the signs of the moles are. Just remember about well you put it or you will have another problem with gum on your shoes. Good luck and happy chewing.
