I have found that the following will work: Over night, soak the bottoms in water and lots of laundry soap. The next day, take an old toothbrush or brush and scrub at the dirt lines. Rinse the pants then let the pants soak again over night. Then you wash them as you normally would. If this doesn't get the dirt lines out of the pants it should dull the dirt lines enough so that the average person can't see them.
