A question about laundry...?
Answers:
The detergent you're using is probably too harsh for dark fabrics. A really good product for washing black stuff is called 'Woolite Dark.' It's gentle so it won't fade your clothes, yet still gets them clean.
Hope this helps!

I suspect it has something to do with the dyes used to color your shirts. You might try a gentler cycle and cold water, or hand washing.

Maybe the detergent or bleach you use. It kind of sounds like you are using too harsh of a detergent or maybe it sit directly on the clothes and it bleaches that area.
When you wash darks, use a color safe detergent and bleach and run the water and mix in the soap before you put the clothes in. Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle. Also, try a liquid detergent since it tends to disperse in the water more evenly.
A local concentration of soap powder can do this. Melt the powder in the water first, then put in your clothes.
Or you could quit buying black shirts ...
They are fading. Only having them drycleaned will make them last longer. It is cheaper than buying new shirts
