If the stain is wet, DON'T consent to it dry out. Go to a pet store, and get a pet-stain remover approaching Nature's Miracle or similar oxygen-based product. Test it on an area of your sofa explicitly inconspicuous first. After determining that it won't remove the dye from the fabric, use it according to the directions, and afterwards blot it up (do NOT rub). I've had really right results from it for everything from pet stains to wine.
