Any help for poor house keepers?

There must be some trick to it!

Answers:
I hate to clean, but I hate a dirty house even more. I have a set cleaning day and when that day rolls around, I force myself to do it. Once I get started, I get into it and don't stop until everything is spotless. Just make yourself do it. You will love the results and you will be proud of yourself. Also, try doing a little each day. I vacuum every other day, take turns with my boys washing dishes, so I do them every third day and if you have a load of laundry, wash it immediately. When cleaning day arrives, there will be less to do so you won't feel overwhelmed. And crank up the stereo!

By poor, I'm assuming you mean "bad." As in not very good at it. The best, easiest thing to do, is to stay on top of it. Clean something as soon as it gets dirty. Wash clothes as soon as you get a load, don't wait untill they all pile up. Same with the dishes. Don't go to bed with a dirty house. You have to learn to manage your time. Don't walk out of any area of your house without something in your hands (on your way back from the bathroom, start a load of clothes....when you get a refill of your drink, wash a couple of dishes, If there is something in the living room that needs to be thrown away...don't walk out of the living room without it).
I've been a widower for a good many years. I'm also an old male chauvinist pig who thinks house work is women's work. :-) However, as much as I dislike house work, I hate a dirty house even more. I've found that is much easier to keep a clean house than it is to clean a dirty one. It only takes short easy spurts to clean things, on the spot, as they need it. Where as cleaning a whole house after it has gotten dirty takes hours of harder work. Time I could spend doing something much more enjoyable.
Make a list for everyone at your house and make them do it
Every evening do a quick pick up of things that are in the wrong place. You can put them in a basket/box. As you walk back through the house put things where they belong and/or give them to whom they belong to put away.Do the dishes everyday because it is unhealthy not to!As you take off your dirty clothes put them in separate baskets and you will save time sorting later. Do the laundry on the weekend.Start the cleaning day off with everyone stripping their beds and washing the sheets first so they will be dry and ready to be put back on before you finish the house which will eliminate folding and storage also. Wash, dry, give everyone their own clothes to fold& hang up, and assign turns to do towels& linens. On sat. am have everyone pitch in to dust, sweep, mop, vac., do the entire bathroom(I take a min. to go over the sink and commode seat after everyone has finished each night to keep it decent), clean kit &empty leftovers from fridge, and sweep off entry ways BEFORE ANYONE CAN GO DO ANYTHING! Home needs the attention first. You will surprised at how fast the house will be clean! It shouldn't take over two hrs. for one person and with a group it will go fast. Once a mo. do the harder stuff: clean all the outsides of cabinets, fridge insides &throw out outdated foods, sweep down spider webs, etc.,move big furniture to clean behind and under, do thorough cleaning and not just a light dusting of all furniture-fronts sides &top. Everyone cleans the furniture in their own room and joins in to do other rooms.Run curtains through the dryer to remove dust each mo. if you have allergies, especially where you sleep, or if no allergies every 3 mo. Put fake trees and plants in the shower to clean every 3-6 mo.,clean out outdated foods from cabinets in kit- 3 mo and a thorough washing inside them every 6 mo. It is all routine. If you do the quick pick ups during the week it will leave you time for family activities and keep the house straight. When you are cleaning on the weekends it will build bonds with your family and let them know that home is not just a place to be when nothing else is going on.It will also teach discipline and consequences which are life lessons. You will not feel like a poor housekeeper by being overwhelmed with so much cleaning and so many other things to do. Good luck and contact me if you need to.

If your house is really in need of a good cleaning. First, take one room at a time and really clean it top to bottom. A good one to start on is the kitchen or bathroom. Including cleaning out cuboards, closets, stove, fridge, etc. Get rid of junk! Go one room at time and enjoy looking at a job well done! When you finally get the house really clean from one end to the other you should only have to go through and do a little lite house work, dusting, vacuming, cleaning the floors in the kitchen and bath. As long as you do a little cleaning every week you can get by for severl months before you need to start the same sequince again. Only then you can do it at your convenence.
Be consistent and pick up after yourself. Always place things back in there designated area. It sure makes life a lot easier.
one room a day get rid of what u don't want haven't used in god knows how long..put on some good jammin music and go to town..heck get ur mom or ur best friend to comeover to watch u so u don't back down..( worked for me to clean out my closets lol)
Get a better job then you can be a rich house keeper. Make the house keeping a habit, then you will be able to do a little each day and your house will be clean.
