How to fix a dryer? the light works but it doesn't start?
Answers:
Try checking your fuse box or breaker panel. Reset the breaker even if it doesn't look tripped. The dryer is likely 220 volts, the light is probably 110 volts

Sounds like the timer needs to be replaced. You can buy replacements at most hardware stores.

Its most likely the wiring. If the dryer came with a wiring diagram you may be able to isolate and fix the problem that way...I did. However, you may want to leave this to a professional...a crossed or bare wire could lead to a fire, and if YOU do the repairs insurance wouldn't cover any loses.
