Can anyone tell me how to get the old tea and coffee stains from my mug?
Answers:
I just pour a couple of tablespoons of regular Clorox bleach into my mug, swirl it around a bit, and in 20 seconds or so the stains are completely gone... rinse out the mug in hot water and that's it. As a matter of fact, I use the same laundry bleach to clean stains in the sink; turns it bright white in seconds with no scrubbing, much better than Comet or any of those other gritty cleansers.
Other answers:
Put a tbsp of bleach in leuk warm water and pour the mug full of it. Let sit for an hour or two. The stains will disappear.

sand it..
Did you try bleach? Let it soak overnight in a bleach/water mix. Just be sure you wash it out well before you drink out of it ;)
Soak in liquid bleech then wash it.
Sorry when I was typing, there was no answer.
Put bleach into the cup and leave over night. make sure you wash the cup properly in the morning with lots of hot water.
CLR (they advertise it on tv all the time) it's sold at a bunch of stores(try osco or walgreens or walmart)
I use SOS cleaning pads. It works very well. I just make sure to wash it again after the SOS and rinse well. Good luck!!
depending on the size of the mug use some salt and ice. swirl the cube around in the cup add the salt and swirl some more. for really tough stains use another ice cube and a bit more salt... also this will clean glass coffee pots...
Salt and crushed ice work together to make them sparkle! A couple tablespoons of crushed ice and a teaspoon of plain table salt (no water or anything else!) and then you just 'swish' it around a bit and they come right out- no vapors, no vinegar, just PRESTO!
First of all do not use BLEACH. Take your mug or coffee maker and put about 4 or 5 ice cubes and a whole lot of salt and spin in a circular motion. This should be the answer you need.
soak it in bleach!
You don't even want to take a chance on bleach. Some coffee mugs have an inferior glazing and will stain.
Try a stainless steel or copper cleaner, use about a teaspoon and very little water to make a paste out of it, rinse and wipe wet several times and rinse thoroughly. That usually does it for me.
bicarbonate of soda really does the trick, you can buy it in any supermarket for under £1. Either mix it with water into a paste OR dab a small amount of dry bicarb onto a damp cloth and simply wipe the stain away. When it has gone it might be an idea to put some water in the bottom of your mug overnight to stop the stains setting.
let them soak in bleach water you can use any brand it doesnt matter, use about half clorox bleach and half warm water.
Fill your sink half full of hot water, add about a half of cup of Javex to it and then place all your mugs with stains into the water [you have to make sure the water covers all the mug ~ so add more water if needed]. Then let them soak for about 2 hours. After that, empty the sink of the javex solution and fill the sink with dish soap and hot water and wash as normal. All the stains should be gone.
For the really stubborn ones, you might have to fill the cup with half hot water and half javex and leave overnight.
Just be careful if you have cats that like to get on the counter ~ you don't want your kitties drinking the stuff.
Use a little bit of bleach (any clothing type will do) and slowly move the liquid around the stained area. When the stain is gone rinse thoroughly with warm water.
