what is the best way to clean windows?

1/4 vinegar and 3/4 water, put in a spray bottle, spray down window, then wipe off with a sheet of newspaper! works very well and is very inexpensive!

Use a solution of water softener and windex. The water softner takes off any hard water stains and then the windex should leave a streak free shine. Be sure to use a lint free cloth.....

Vinagar and crumpled newspaper.
Windex makes a kind that has vinegar in it. It actually smells really good and works really well. Use a crumpled up newspaper instead of paper towels, and you won't leave streaks behind.
1/2 cup vinegar, in a pail of warm water. Plenty of newspapers, crumbled up, to wipe the washed windows dry !

You can use pure vinegar and newspaper or paper towels or a squeegee, clean one side horizontally the other vertically and it is easy to spot which side of the window has streaks on it......I also use glass plus which works well as does ammonia and water. So many choices, and they all work!
