Vinegar is a good cleanser for the mold & mildew. The soaring acid content will decimate the spores. Then follow up with a mild soap or detergent. Be tight-fisted using your swing if it's had a mildew problem, though. The mildew will enjoy weakened the cloth's structure, making it more inclined to tear under stress.
There's this stuff that I buy call "Mean Green". If you can find it where you live, try it. Bleach will also work but it could fade the yard goods.
