The agitator is not working on my GE washing machine on the wash cycle, but it does on the rinse cycle. Help!?

Sounds like it may be the wigwag gear. they are relatively cheap

try rinsing the clothes twice...once with soap...once without soap...until the repair man gets there.

the heater is faulty.If your machine has an economy program try it .the heater is not opperative on this cycle.
