how do you get the smell of mildew out of dark clothing?
Answers:
Use Borax. Find in grocery store in the detergent isle. Even a box of baking soda with or without a bottle of white vinegar in your washing machine. Set to a small load and soak overnight. DO NOT use hot water...tepid or warm only. Then wash as usual.

I would use oxyclean on them..spray them with frebreeze
Rewash clothes and add a bit of Lysol Concentrate to the wash. Always works for me.
i would add a very small amount of bleach to the wash water. mix in well before adding the clothes.
try febrezze
Sometimes vinegar works but it could stain the clothes in some areas. That happened to me also and I tried soaking the cloth in some heavy salts like rock salt then washed it in strong detergent. It came off but only after a few more washes. Normally drying them out in the sun instead of a dryer helps.
Try liquid lysol in the brown bottle that should do the trick.
Rewash with a really nice and strong smelling detergent...and use fabreeze, it really works.
Send the clothes to a professional dry cleaner.
Vinegar is the way to go. Add a cup or two of vinegar to the wash cycle along with detergent. Then add a cup to the rinse cycle. It should remove the odor. (Maybe do this twice)
