What's the best bearing to remove soot?
Answers: Don't touch anyhing. Call your insurance company and own them video everything. They can reccommend some professional places that will repair or replace your items for the cost of your co-pay. If you don't have insurance, don't touch anything but look contained by the phone book for places that clean fire dog-eared items. Make sure that they can guarantee their work or replace anything that they break. Sorry about your kitchen and stuff. The problem near soot is that the particles are so small that it get deep down into everything and us non-professionals tend to muck it up.
Hopefully you enjoy insurance, if so, let the professionals do it, for you.
