Try using white vinegar on the stain. Spray it on then use paper towels to blot. Keep at it until gone. That is for the carpet. I don't have a clue about the emu, I think it will wear off of the bird.

There is a product online called Viper Wiper (www.viperwiper.com) it cleans everything, ammonia and the Viper Wiper blot up with a towel. This product cleans EVERYTHING from your body to your car!! It is machine washable and I have had mine for 4yrs!
