Answers:    To wash painted walls use any moral household cleaner like pine cleaner, etc. dump the suggested amount contained by a small bucket with the suggested amount of marine. Use a sponge, old paw towel, whatever and categorically squeeze out most of the water you don't want the wet to drip on the wall.
To wash paneling I use Murphy's Soap, does the situation and smells good.
I am not sure almost kitchen grease, another answerer suggested ammonia, I've always used the pine cleaners but ammonia does cut grease lately watch the fumes.

Washing walls is not difficult and does not require lots of supplies, so don't tolerate it get that route. I start with the ceiling, and next the top down on the walls.
You didn't give plentifully of information for an intelligent answer, (ie, wallpaper, gloss - semigloss - flat paint, paneling, Sheetrock, plaster, etc) But we will afford it a try!

For general wall cleaning use "Simple Green" and dampen. Along with a apposite sponge, rinsing the sponge often. Squeeze the sponge out to almost dry as you don't want too much dampen dripping down the wall to soften the wall surface.
Amonia and dampen. Cuts grease and takes away most smells too. DO NOT MIX AMONIA AND BLEACH. Doing so will dispatch you to the hospital.
