How do you stop your new coloured clothes from bleeding in the wash?
Answers:
add a cup of vinegar to the wash....and be sure to use cold water. for anything new that's red, i soak in the sink before washing with a cup of vinegar. the vinegar sets the color and keeps it from running.
Other answers:
Put a bandage on it.
Put a bandage on it.
Wash it in cold water OR wash it alone.
Wash brights together and if you get a new item and think it will bleed, wash it all by itself. I also use these collector sheets by Shout, they really work at picking up most colours that are in the water, but not all.
first you should seperate your red/pink/orange items from whites and bieges. they do sell in the laundry aisle a cloth that you toss in that supposed to collect the dye that leaks out, i have not tried it.
You can't stop it. You simply wash it seperately until the color fades out then put it in with dark items only.Never put dark items with light ones or you will have a whole new hue to those that are light colored......Good luck...(*_*)
wash them in cold water
Ok try washing your new red blouse first in cold water (of course) with vinegar, it sets the color in and will keep it from bleeding in the wash. Then just wash as usual each time using cold water! :-)
put 2 tablesppons of salt in the washer b-4 you put in the laundry detergant.
wash in COLD water with only other red colors for at least the next 5 washings. If you don't have other red clothes then do it in the sink alone. Then I would only wash it with colored clothes after that.
Wash it alone by hand or machine with some salt!
Cold water wash and rinse.
1)Soak in cold water and detergent.
2)use bleach if it is safe for fabric.
Some things bleed too much to do anything about it but Shout makes some sheets (look like dryer sheets) that you put in with the wash - called Color Catchers, I think. They work great if it's not a whole bunch of bleeding. Sometimes I use a couple of them if I'm concerned about it. You will see the color on the sheet after the wash.
Good luck!
