Is it a good idea to put my hoodie is the washer w/hot water to shrink it?

its black and HUGE so I really want to shrink it down two or one size and its made of 73% cotton and 27% polyester. I can't return it and I don't want to ruin it.

It most likely wont shink that much, because of the polyester. 100% cotton will always shrink. You wont hurt anything by trying though. Wash it in hot water, and the dry it on high heat. Good luck.
