after washing and spinning my clothes some items have been ripped and torn in the process, approx five times now . i have felt for sharp objects in the drum but nothing . i am getting scared now that this is going to ruin my best stuff. HELP

We had the same trouble with a Hotpoint washing machine a few years ago. A friend of mine repairs these dammed things and although he spent hours (along with Hotpoint engineers) they came up with the following answer.
"We have no idea what's causing the problem....."
Hotpoint eventually gave us a far better machine after months of complaints.
