What can I use to get the mothball smell out of items I have had in storage?

Answers:
I worked at a cleaners, when we had cloths that would come in smelling like moth balls, we would hang them all on a hanger and let them air out for 3 days. Then we would wash or dryclean them....No more mothball smell!~:)

Good Luck

Is it washable? Otherwise leave it outside to air out.
PATCHOULI oil, diluted in a spray bottle, sprayed on and then air it out!
The smell will evaporate out of the clothes. If you need to speed this up you can use one of the dry cleaning fresheners. These consist of a bag that you put the clothes along with a freshening pack and then this is put in the dryer to heat it up. Heat will make the mothball compounds evaporate out faster. Steaming them will do the same thing or even just blowing a fan past them.
