How do you get permanent marker off of leather?

My daughter drew all over my dad's super expensive leather couch with a permanent sharpie marker. Any ideas how to get it off before he gets home at 5?
I checked the sharpie website, but it didn't say much that common sense doesn't already dictate. Doesn't anyone have any good ideas?

I hate to tell you this but I highly doubt it is going to come out at all. Try contacting the company that made the sofa.. I had something similar happen and I ended up buying a whole new sofa set because of it...... KEEP THE MARKERS HIDDEN!!!!! In the future.....

try hairspray.... it worked for a pen that my daughter used
I don't think you can, that's why it's called "permanent marker" because it's permanent, but I would try Shout, or oxyclean, Good Luck getting rid of it!
Most cleaning products that remove ink will also remove the color from leather. However, if the ink is fresh, you may be able to remove it with either a non-oily, liquid hair spray or Armor All. Just spray the stain, then wipe it with a soft cloth, but be sure that this will not effect the dyes in your leather by trying this in an inconspicuous area first. Othewise, have the leather professionally treated.
