Is there a way to remove those "scales" that form on glassware after washing?

We have a lot of minerals in our water. Even after softening, the water causes whiteish scales on glassware after repeated washing. Is there any way to remove this, or do we have to toss these and buy new?

Answers:
i dissolve dry dishwasher detergent in a bowl of vinegar to wash them, shiny & spot free

Other answers:
Hand wash them with baking soda
Hand wash them with baking soda
vineger should work... the bad... it's vineger.
It might be more time efficient to just hand dry your glassware.
There is a product called "jet dry" it is designed for dishwashers. If you have a dishwasher open it and look for a small circle with a screw out thing.take that out and fill the hole with jet dry cap it up and it will release automatically in the rinse cycle. If you do your dishes by hand. after you wash and rinse the glasses fill your sink or a pan with hot water add a tablespoon of the jet dry and stir well. place the glasses in the pan making sure all of the glass is under water then take it out rinse with plain water and place on the drain board or a towel to dry. I have used jet dry for over 20 years.I also lived in the country and had a problem with mineral deposits on my glasses! You can buy "jet dry" at any grocery store
Hand wash with vinegar. If the spots have been ther long you may to immerse them in a dishpan to which you have added clear water abd a cup of vinegar.
