What is a good way to clean my jewellry?

I have some gold and some silver. I also have some fake jewellry that I know was cheap but I want to clean it.
Do you think Windex would work or some other household cleaner?

Answers:
Soak them in a dish with warm water & Dawn dishsoap.
Stones in rings can be cleaned with an electric toothbrush (obviously use an old head).
Rinse and blot dry with a towel.

Other answers:
try toothpaste and scrub worked when I ran out
try toothpaste and scrub worked when I ran out
DONT DO THAT
IF YOU CANT GET JEWELRY CLEANER USE TOOTHPASTE ON YOUR SILVER AND GOLD.
Toothpaste, works great on rings, brush & rinse, OR 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water, let soak, scrub with old toothbrush, & rinse for necklaces, bracelets, etc.
Only whitetooth paste no fruity color ones
sand from the bottom of a lake....it works great.
Jewellery
Use nothing more than a little water to clean absorbent precious stones such as jade, opal, some agates, cloudy quartz and emerald. Pearls should only be cleaned in mild salt solution - 1 teaspoon of salt for 600 millilitres of water. Ivory can be cleaned with sweet almond oil on a cotton bub. Other jewellery should be cleaned with a proprietary product. Always wipe earring hooks with methylated spirits and a cotton ball to remove bacteria. Never use heat or chemicals on jewellery. If in doubt, take it to a jeweller.
I use a small tooth brush and a little toothpaste...rinse right away. Also works so well on real stones..really makes them shine. Make sure to dry well with hair dryer...not too close.
Coca Cola brings back the shine to tarnished silver.
To clean silver, put some foil in a bowl, shiny side up, and throw in a few teaspoons of salt and some baking soda. Pour in boiling water, get everything dissolved, and drop your silver pieces onto the foil. The dirt will come off the silver and stick to the foil.

To clean gold, just do the dishes with your jewelry on - the warm soapy water will clean it. (wrap necklaces around your wrist)
i use toothpaste and an old toothbrush. scrub then rinse well with warm water but be carefull not to drop jewelry down the drain
