The market is saturated with miracle and specialty bathroom cleaners...they are so dangerous and expensive.
I'm glad people here are being more reasonable. I agree that one great cleaner is PineSol when you need a heavy duty disinfectant. Another spray and wipe cleaner for almost all surfaces in the bathroom is Windex. Use not only on mirrors and chrome, but spray on the sink basin, outside of toilet, tub and shower surfaces, dump some in the toilet, you can even make a mopping bucket with it.
Special problems in the bathroom:
If you have lime or spots, soap scum, or a clogged showerhead, use full strength white vinegar in a spray bottle or sopped up on a rag. You can soak the showerhead, either holding it up there, or remove the head...with white vinegar in a bowl. If you have that crusty ring around the toilet bowl, drain the water first, then add vinegar to cover the line so that it is not diluted.
For hair in the drain, fish out as much as you can with a tweezer or pliers. Then try baking soda sprinkled on/in the drain, followed by equal amounts of vinegar and then after it quits foaming, boiling water. The baking soda and vinegar causes a safe reaction (volcano experiment) that knocks particles loose and allows them to be flushed, instead of eating or dissolving the clog. May need to repeat but this is safe for pipes, unlike DUH drain cleaner.
If you need a scouring powder, try baking soda paste. You can put a few drops of bleach on it for ground in stains on grout, etc.
If you mold and mildew, BLEACH does the trick. For prevention, ventilate by opening the window, using the fan and maybe even adding a second fan to get moisture out of the room.
Don't use any ammonia product including Windex with any bleach product...it produces toxic gasses.
Don't forget to dust every once in a while. Lightbulbs give off more light when they aren't shining through a film of dust. AND consider the squiggle bulbs to get a LOT of light for short term use. An investment.
Try to scrape off as much dried up soap and shampoo and conditioner as you can before applying cleanser. Saves on rinsing, and allows whatever cleaner to get to where the glop is really stuck on.
For air freshening, consider a spray like Lysol that disinfects AND smells good. When you stink it up, you can just spray in the wastebasket, on the toilet seat, light fixtures and sink knobs, or anywhere that you think needs a blast instead of spraying into the air...two birds with one stone.
Febreeze on the shower curtain makes the whole bathroom smell great, possibly even that whole hallway.
