What is the best way to get the grease stains off the wall near the stove?

dawn dish washing detergent cuts grease better than anything, make up a 50-50 mix of it and water and put in a spray bottle and it will cut it .....

Some people use winger to cut through grease , but I have never like using vinegar to clean with unless I just have to.
Have you tried something with trisodium phosphate in it? I use a cleaner available in my area. It's called TSP. There are different brands available. It's great for cleaning greasy film off walls and floors.
409 Orange degreaser and a Mr Clean eraser and a little elbow grease; should come right off.
