Shampoo my carpets?

I am fixing to clean my carpets, I am torn between renting a cleaner and doing it myself or hiring a carpet cleaning company. I am open for suggestions, I don't mind doing it myself, also I don't mind paying to have it done, I just want it to be clean and fresh.. Thanks in advance.....

Answers:
Get a cleaner to do it.

We just had our apartment done. I moved all our stuff out of the way, they were here and done in 40 minutes..and the carpets look brand new.

Spoil yourself.

if you have just a few stains here and there try Resolve. Mix it with a little water let sit about 3 minutes. Then dab a bit. If the stain remains, rub just a little. if you mean u wanna get the whole carpet clean then sorry, no suggestions.

look for those flyer's some have great rates for certain size rooms.. Sears has great rates and is completely guaranteed
pay someone to come who has a guarantee...we have our own cleaning machine and enerytime i clean i find dirty spots oafter i'm done (it is an expensive one too) ....it takes a few hours and alot of labor, it is way more economical to pay some one to come out .... the cleaners you can rent are pretty shoddy and really dirty on the inside of the machine.... take my advice...hire someone... they do it all day long so it doesn't take too long, but like i said, make sure that they have a guarantee so if a stain comes back when its dry, they'll come back for free....good luck...clean carpet is one of life's simple pleasures
call and find a company that use's a hot iron to remove all the stains, or you can use a hot iron to remove all the stains and steam clean it your self..but make sure a iron is used to..if not not all the stains will come out
