what can I use to get the smell of smoke out of clothes that have been in a fire?

Answers:
Arm & hammer detergent w/baking soda plus one half box of baking soda added. Wash in warm water not hot or cold, let stand for at least an hour, every 15 minutes adjatate water.Finish the cycle, hang outside if possiable,if not use a low dryer heat setting to dry. Also on the market is a new tide w/ freebreeze in it, I don't like it because it faded a load of clothes and turned my whites a little yellow however where i live we have alot of minerals in our water so depending on where you live it might work.

y would/how would u wear someothing thats been on fire?
I would try Frebreeze (hope the spelling right).
Hmm...try Febreeze, or taking them to a dry cleaner. Friends of mine had their house catch on fire, and they unfortunately had to get rid of a lot of their clothes. Good luck.
Use arm and hammer detergent with bakeing soda and add extra bakeing soda as well.May have to wash clothes several times..Also,20 muleteam borax is good.
I would try baking soda since it is a watersoftener causing the soap to work better and it is a great deotorizer.
Pour A little bit of pine sol in it.
Wash them in tide & dry them with a couple sheets of Fabreeze
Use baking soda through 1 entire wash cycle, then wash with non chlorine bleach and detergent...generous liquid fabric softener.
Not much you cna do. I am a FF and have had many ask me that Q. I hate to say that fille 13 is the only way!
Id try some vinegar in the rinse water, or maybe a cup of pine sol with your detergent. That can kill cig smoke.
