When filling the dishwasher..?
Or do you mix it up a little.
Answers:
It is easier to be organized and put them with same. That way, when you take them out, you do not have to sort them.
Why were you in LaGrange? We always watch our speed when there because you never know when the cop will show. Grew up with Amish heratiage. Had several relatives who were Amish and lived in Shipshewanna, IN. Lots of cute guyes there too.

i mix. but what is important is that they stand upwards (the part that goes into your mouth) because if facing down i find that they don't always get cleaned properly especialy if the spoons are "spooning eachother."

I mix them deliberately and thuroughly.
I figure that if the spoons and forks are seperated, their contours will make it more likely that they will fit together in a way that keeps the surfaces from being cleaned. Flatware of different types, however, can not do this.
And I always put the pointy ends up too.
Wheewwwww. Mix them, put some up and some down, cheat and put some on the top rack laying sideways, throw some out if there is no room left. Do you line them up perfectly in their proper place when you remove them?
Mix it up..and put some in "up" and some "down" , this method helps keep "spooning" to a minimum.
mix it up, otherwise the spoons may...well..spoon, and not clean properly. Just make sure they are pointing upwards.
When filling the dishwasher..?
I always mix the silverware and face prongs and the like
upwards. I have tried various ways and have found this
way to be the best for me.
Steak knives are different. I still place the points up, but
I keep them all together to prevent anyone getting cut and I
always place them in the furthest basket(the basket that goes closest to the back of the dishwasher when the door is closed.
Rinsing the silverware thoroughly is a big help before placing them in the baskets!
Hope this helps!
I mix them up hoping they will procreate and I'll get sporks like in elementary school. So far though, nothing.
