How do they dry clean clothing?
Answers:
God I just saw a special about it on one of the morning news shows either Good Morning America or the Today Show. Dry cleaning isn't dry. The clothes get thrown into an industrial washer with cleaning solvent (instead of soap and water)and get tossed around for a while. The solvent drains off and the clothes are dried in the same machine. The clothes are taken off and move onto pressing, either hand or machine press depending on what you paid for. Supposedly they are clean but that depends on how much the solvent is reused. The solvent is supposed to be more effective at removing dirt but gentler on the fabric than detergent and water.

When you get them home, air dry them on a porch if possible before you wear them so some of the chemical stench can get out of them.
