I spilled sweet and sour sauce on my tan carpet it is from a chinese restaurant any spot removal advice?
Answers:
Woolite Oxy Clean - works great. I have tan carpeting in my living room and my son spilled red pop on it. It took it out beautifully. I had to apply twice, but you can't even tell where the stain used to be now.
Good luck!

Lemon juice...or Shaving cream ( the old foaming stuff). Let them set on it about 10 min...pour COLD water on the stain about 1/2 cup. then blot with a dry towel...keep repeating this process.
Baking soda and salt both work to remove stains. Sprinkle one or the other on the carpet and then wait for it to absorb as much of the liquid and pigment as possible. Then, vacuum over the area.
After that, you can try wetting the area with cold water and putting a weighted paper towel on top and a regular towel underneath (if it's an area rug).
There are also commercial stain removers you can try, but if you don't have one it's better to tackle the problem quickly than let it sit while you go shopping!
Woolite Foam Carpet Cleaner Heavy Traffic.
I swear by it. I have wall to wall carpet and a dog and I spill stuff, even hot sauce (from a soul food restaurant :)) I spray, rub it in come back and vacuum in @ 20 min.
This has saved me countless times having to haul out my steam cleaner (hate that thing).
Also, use it as a light spray when I vacuum to refresh and deoderize.
Oxy Clean powder in hot tap water...works wonders.
