How can I find joy in House Cleaning?
Answers:
I am a single guy. It doesn't bother me to clean the house, but I've learned to do it in spurts rather than doing everything at once. For example, pick a day of the week for each room. Do the bathroom, say on Wednesday when you have more energy instead of Monday. And don't do it all at once. Work on it for an hour, watch your favorite TV program for an hour, and then go back to cleaning. Clean the living room when your favorite TV program is on so you can watch it while you clean, and take a break when something interesting comes on. Fix yourself a cold drink or snack that you can use when you need a pick-me-up and a break. The thing to remember is don't let your little rest breaks turn into a 2-hour break, otherwise nothing will get done.
If you do one room a day and make a schedule to do it each week, then it's not so overwhelming. Oh yeah...and kids have to do their part too. And your spouse. Get them into the habit of not just throwing things around and make them pick up after themselves. If everybody does their little part, then you don't have to do it all.
I knew somebody who had a maid come in each week. He cleaned the house before the maid got there because he didn't want the maid to think he was messy. It's like washing your dishes before you put them in the dishwasher.
So, can you find joy in it? Maybe. Ask your husband to hide money around the house, maybe in places he thinks might need cleaning. And then you can clean and keep the money!! And if you don't find it, then he has to clean and he can keep the money.

LOL, it just motivates me knowing how good it's gonna look when I'm done I guess.. I doubt you're gonna find ANY fun way to do it though, lol

Crank up the music it works for me
Pump whatever music you like and the time flies. The music really gets you up and going!
Put on some music and dance your way through it! That way you'll get exercise too.
I put my favorite music on and dance to it as I go. I clean the thing I hate most first. That way I am not dreading it as a go.
It's all about a change in attitude. Be thankful that you have a nice place to live that needs to be cleaned. Be thankful that you have the money to purchase the cleaning solutions and products you need & that you are able-bodied enough to do it yourself.
I just watched Extreme Makeover: Home Edition last night & there was a family of 2 parents & 5 daughters who lost EVERYTHING in a propane explosion. I'm sure that they would be grateful for anything that they had to clean.
Something else that I do is to use a cleaning routine so that you're not doing the same jobs all the time & it doesn't build up to a big 8 hr marathon cleaning. Just pick a day or time to do one thing and just touch it up. For example, as you're in the bathroom to get ready for work in the AM, swish and swipe the toilet and sink on your way out. That way, the bathroom is presentable all the time 'cause you're doing the basics EVERY day. It takes no time at all! Then, when the big cleaning day comes, you just have to wipe out the bathtub & shower doors (if you have them.)
Fantasize that you're cleaning house for your favorite celebrity, and that your reward will be a romp in the sack with them.
find the song clean up woman by Betty wright....because if there any guy in your life, he'll want you clean house, just listen to that song for motivation....if that won't help somehow, then try just doing the dare thing...you say you're not dirty, but this makes you nasty... get busy!

Break up the task into small steps. Do a little at a time. Play some music that motivates you. Think about the homeless people who just wish they had a home to clean. Hope these help!
I play a movie in the background.
Listen to your favorite upbeat music, I listen to old Bobby Brown CD.
