How would I be able to make a small washing machine?

I have to take all of my clothes to the laundry mat, but I have to wash my work clothes by hand almost every day. This is annoying and my hands get all wrinkly. I've seen little portable washing machines for sale, but they are way too expensive. How would I be able to make one myself?

actually i found a portable washing machine at a yard sale for $20 and it worked perfect. i needed another one for someone in my family so i posted an add on craigslist.com in her city under the 'wanted' section of 'for sale'. within two days someone contacted me with a used portable washing machine for sale!

I dont think there is a way, try using a egg beater to move the clothes around in the water other then using your bare hands. thats about all i can come up with....

IT SEEMS THERE WOULD BE A LOT OF ISSUES WITH BUILDING A WASHING MACHINE AND PROBABLY CHEAPER TO BUY THE PORTABLE ONE BUT IF YOU ARE SET ON IT YOU COULD TRY A BUCKET AND IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO ONE A PAINT MIXER MIGHT WORK WELL. YOU STILL WILL NEED TO WRING THEM BY HAND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO MAKE A WRINGER. THAT'S MY BEST GUESS ANYWAY.
Get a wash tub. A scrub board and a paddle to lift the hot laundry. That is how they did it in the old days.

I suggest you move to a place that has a washer and dryer.
